Gourd Angel

A magical forest sprite inspired by the work of Akira Blount. This doll was originally made for the Creative Doll Artist Club's "Natural Challenge". Her head and torso are of cloth, attached to a home-grown gourd skirt. The tangle of roots flowing out from under her skirt, were collected on the shores of the St. Lawrence River early one spring on a trip to Quebec. Her hair is of individually stitched grape tendrils, embellished with small acorns. Her wings are of bracket fungus.
