The supposedly wise little gnome is losing the chess game to his dog. Made as an end-of-year gift for a favourite grade 7 teacher who loved dogs, chess and chocolate chip cookies.

Media: Head, hands and shoes of Super Sculpey, on a wire armature, with a cloth body. Painted eyes, rabbit fur hair. He wears a rough beige tunic over blue undersleeves. He has a rough frayed blue cloak and a fringed brown leather collar. His hat is green velveteen, trimmed with blue feathers.

Props: He holds a wooden staff with a silver-painted Super Sculpey top which holds an amythest crystal. The staff is embellished with beaded tassels and feathers. The gnome holds a handmade Sculpey III chocolate chip cookie. The base is painted with a chess board. The chess men and dog are purchased. The dog has his master in a "check-mate"
